Evident Software Appoints New Board Member and Strengthens Senior Management Team

Roderick McGeary, BearingPoint founder and interim CEO, Joins Board; Former VERITAS Software Executive Michael J. Miracle To Lead Corporate Development and Product Management

Bloomfield, NJ — January 13, 2005 — Evident Software is pleased to announce today that Roderick McGeary, interim CEO of BearingPoint, Inc. (NYSE:BE), has joined its Board of Directors. McGeary brings to his advisory position experience leading some of the technology sector's most well-respected, established and emerging companies.

The company also announced today the appointment of Michael J. Miracle as Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and Product Management. Miracle joins Evident after serving on the company's Board of Directors, where he was instrumental in a successful funding round in mid-2004, and a new product strategy for the company. Miracle has resigned his Board position, and in his new role is responsible for Evident's corporate strategy, product management, and strategic alliances.

Roderick McGeary brings invaluable experience to Evident's board. Currently serving as CEO and Chairman of the Board at BearingPoint, McGeary also acts as director at BroadVision, Inc., Cisco Systems, Inc., and GoRemote, Inc.

“The Evident Software technology meets a previously unmet market need,” said McGeary. “I am pleased to align with a company with the potential for changing the way enterprises look at IT.”

Miracle previously served as Vice President, Corporate Business Development at VERITAS Software, where he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions and strategic venture investing. He has also held a variety of senior positions at Hewlett-Packard, Novell, Unix Systems Labs, and AT&T/Lucent Bell Laboratories. In addition to his board position with Evident, Miracle has served on the boards of Connected Corporation and Precise Software.

“Evident Software provides something that enterprises have been seeking for years — the ability to truly understand what IT costs, and the ability to use this information to effectively manage IT like a business,” said Miracle. “That's what makes this opportunity so exciting to me. We're not only bringing to market an innovative solution, we're also empowering our customers to innovate in their own businesses by freeing up under-utilized assets. Likewise, we're helping our partners transform how they deliver IT services to their customers.”

“Engaging seasoned and talented industry leaders bolsters our position in the marketplace and underscores our strength going into 2005,” said Roger W. Boyce, president and CEO of Evident Software. “Mike brings exceptional hands-on experience and a knowledgeable birds-eye view of the software industry. This experience will prove valuable as we evolve our IT Service Intelligence solution and team to best meet customer needs. Rod's perspective will serve us well as we grow the company and work closely with CIOs and CFOs to transform the way they manage their IT investments.”
