RF Magic Exceeds 10 Million Chips Milestone

San Diego, CA — June 14, 2006 — RF Magic, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company at the forefront of highly integrated broadband radio frequency (RF) integrated circuits (IC) for the consumer broadband and digital entertainment markets, announced that it has surpassed the milestone of having more than 10 million RF Magic ICs in the field.

RF Magic's current product portfolio targets consumer electronics for digital broadcast satellite (DBS) set top boxes, DBS out door units (ODU's), digital terrestrial set top boxes, televisions, home media centers, and fixed wireless access modems. The 10 million units figure represents all RF Magic products manufactured at multiple facilities and sold either directly by RF Magic or indirectly by one of its strategic partners.

“Over the last 12 months we have seen shipments of RF Magic products grow rapidly,” stated Mark Foley, RF Magic's CEO and president. “Along with the increasing volume has come increasing recognition for the quality of products that we bring to market. We anticipate continued rapid growth by increasing the market share of our existing products and by adding new innovative products to our product mix.”

RF Magic focuses on three product markets — Channel Stacking Switches™ (CSS™), tuners and broadband wireless access transceivers. Most recently, RF Magic introduced its latest CSS to the market. CSS enable digital broadcast satellite (DBS) providers to deliver multiple TV channels through a single cable and at the specific frequencies requested by a set-top-box (STB). In addition to the company's successes in the CSS market, RF Magic has also started to gain traction for its offering of silicon tuners.

“The terrestrial tuner market has been challenging to enter with a silicon offering,” stated Gordon Schenk, RF Magic's vice president of worldwide sales. “However, we are now at a stage where the benefits of silicon are displacing those of traditional CAN tuner technology, similar to the path taken by the satellite tuner market a few years ago. Our tuner's high performance, high integration and ease of use has been the catalyst for widespread acceptance and we are starting to see the benefits from a market and revenue perspective.”

Rounding out the product offerings is RF Magic's broadband wireless access chipset that covers all fixed service and unlicensed bands for WiMax and proprietary fixed broadband wireless access modems. The company has experienced a recent increase in volume and demand for this product due to its high performance in tandem with the growing WiMax market.

“We are extremely encouraged by the positive feedback from our partners in the field regarding our WiMax offering. We have seen increased volume shipments in the last 12 months and believe that our market share will continue to increase,” added Schenk.
